ABOUT
Kristie Louise Seeley
It has always been Kristie's passion to own her own dance school.
Kristie began dancing when she was three & she's never looked back!
Her warm, friendly-but-firm approach to teaching makes her classes fun, keeps her students engaged & helps the students achieve excellent results!
Aged 11, Kristie started attending a local dance school in Hertford where her love for dance grew from strength to strength. It was here she was introduced to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus.
At 18, Kristie started studying the Degree Dance Course at the University of Chichester. Here she trained in Contemporary Dance, Contact Improvisation & Ballet, alongside modules in dance history, dance movement therapy, dance criticism & choreography. She completed her final year with a dissertation on 'Dance in Primary Education: An Essential Educational Tool for Children's Development, Learning & Play', & she graduated with a Dance BA (Hons).
Knowing that her passion was to teach, in 2012 Kristie applied & was accepted to train at Penny Meekings' 'The Dance College' to work towards her ISTD DDE teacher training qualifications. Alongside regular training, Kristie took a variety of classes at the college in order to develop a broad range of dance styles, including Contemporary Dance, Rhythm Tap, Yoga & Pilates. Kristie also achieved her Advanced 2 Vocational Exams at this time.
In 2016, having completed all modules & exams Kristie became an Associate of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (DDE) in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap Dance & National Dance.
Kristie has been teaching for over 10 years starting off as an assistant in classes, before gaining her own classes in a local dance school, building up more & more experience as the years went by.
She has helped many students achieve fantastic examinations results in ISTD syllabi from Primary to Advanced Vocational grades in Ballet, Modern, Tap & National genres. She has choreographed for many students who attend dance festivals around the country, watching them gain high amendments & many medals over the years. She has also been part of creating & choreographing many dance shows at theatres such as Hertford Theatre & Campus West.
Kristie still attends courses at the ISTD regularly, always keen to learn & expand her teaching knowledge. She also commits to her own personal training by attending teacher Ballet classes, National Dance summer schools & any other classes she can get to!
Kristie has just gained Licentiate status with the ISTD in National Dance, she is currently working towards her Modern Licentiate & hopes to achieve other teaching qualifications.
